About
I’m Ruth, the founder of the Independent Education Network and an educational strategist who understands the learning journey from every angle: as a former homeschooled student, public school educator, and now as someone dedicated to helping families create exceptional educational experiences.
My years in the classroom opened my eyes to a fundamental truth: even the most well-intentioned traditional systems often struggle to meet each child's unique learning needs. I watched bright, capable students fall through the cracks—not because they couldn't learn, but because the one-size-fits-all approach didn't match how they learned best.
This realization led me to specialize in what I'm most passionate about: personalized education that honors each child's strengths, interests, and learning style. Today, I work with families to design intentional, joyful, and confidence-building learning experiences—whether they're homeschooling full-time, supplementing traditional education, or exploring alternative approaches that better serve their children.
With my background in curriculum development and educational psychology, I help parents move from feeling overwhelmed by endless options to having a clear, strategic plan that works for their family.
Here's what I know to be true: You don't need to have all the answers as a parent; you need the right support to create an educational path where your child can truly thrive.
